What I did?
I started as a Lead product designer freealancing at Shieldpay's sister company Paycast, after delivering a full onboarding experience for their consumer facing product, I was asked to step in the role of Head of Product design at Shieldpay.

At Shieldpay, I worked on both internal and external facing products.

External products

With Shieldpay aiming to improve the process of transfering money safely and securely, my team researched and designed the KYC onboarding process to ensure that the experience for end users was not only fast, safe and secure, but felt and looked like a high quality trusted brand. This would be one of the first and potentially only points of contact with Shieldpay for many users, and hence it was essential that it worked seamlessly and provided all the reassurance people needed to trust the brand, and complete the process.

Internal products

The design team were tasked with improving the internal tools for monitoring transactions. As the company moved from manual processes to automating transactions, Shieldpay needed to design and develop monitoring tools that could quickly provide full visibility of the transactions and the associated data, as well as acting as an early warning system for any potential issues that needed manual intervention.

During my time at Shieldpay, we embarked on UX research to ensure we understood the key information and needs of the teams that would be using the tools. We conducted user interviews and work shops to have a robust understanding of how people currently do the job and how the roles would change in the future once automation was more established. We then moved on to designing wireframes and eventually through to polished prototypes allowing key stakeholders to provide feedback and ensure the final product met and hopefully exceeded the needs of our internal teams.
